PETER OBI: A DISASTER WELL MANAGED

PETER OBI: A DISASTER WELL MANAGED
Our attention has been drawn by the tissue of lies by Peter Obi’s lackey and spin doctor, Mr Valentine Obienyiem. It is not our intention to join issues with minions but to set the records right. That falsehood is the second nature of Mr Obienyiem needs not be restated. This nonentity that lives off Peter Obi, spinning falsehoods for his schizophrenic master to justify his hand-outs. It is symptomatic of his diseased mind to refer to the celebrated Dim Ojukwu as Peter Obi’s follower. That shows how pedestrian and how low these minions can be. It is also symptomatic of the megalomania of his paymaster, Mr Peter Obi.

The undeniable fact is that prior to the anointing and making of Peter Obi by APGA, Peter Obi was an unknown quantity. Chief Sir Victor Umeh was already a national officer in PDP even before the formation of APGA. He led Peter Obi by the hand into APGA. But for Chief Victor Umeh, Peter Obi might not have made headline in any national daily till date. Mr Peter Obi is all he is today courtesy of APGA. APGA made Peter Obi. He is, and will continue to unravel like a park of cards. Chief Victor Umeh was already an accomplished architect prior to his joining partisan politics. Everybody who is somebody on the political terrain knows that Ohamadike Victor Umeh has been the engine house of APGA. If not for him, Peter Obi would not have survived 2003 governorship election petition tribunal.

But Peter Obi on the other hand was a bull in china shop in APGA. He was an APGA governor while secretly financing a faction of the PDP in Anambra State. Peter Obi never attended any APGA function outside Anambra State. He never campaigned for any APGA gubernatorial candidate. APGA diminished under Peter Obi. Like a bull in china shop APGA had to guide him carefully out of government. It is big credit to the leadership of APGA by Chief Victor Umeh that APGA is waxing even stronger. Obi’s intention was to collapse APGA by his exit. But he disappointed himself. Not a single soul followed him out of APGA! That shows how irrelevant Obi has become. Those celebrating Obi today are celebrating an empty bag. Obi is an added liability to the PDP. He has no electoral relevance. Peter Obi is a spent force. The magnificent performance of Dr Willie Obiano just within a few months has consigned Peter Obi to the archives in in the social memory of Ndi Anambra. The exit of Mr Peter Obi from APGA is a blessing in disguise. Thousands of people who stayed away from the party because of Obi are trouping into the party. APGA is the party to beat. The incumbent Governor has revitalised the party. He has given the party the vibrancy Peter Obi perennially denied. We cannot that God enough. There is a biblical saying, “when Uziah died, Isiah saw God”. When Peter Obi left, APGA saw growth.

The world should ask Peter Obi if he left any penny in the coffers of Anambra. Can he tell the world why the incumbent governor of Anambra State, Dr Willie Obiano has refused to sign his fraudulent handover note? The truth is that Peter Obi was a disaster that was successfully managed. It was to Umeh’s credit that the disaster was successfully managed. Today, APGA has breathed a new lease of life. The incumbent governor has hit the ground running he has started the process of expansion of APGA in the Southeast. The 2015 election is fast approaching. We are looking forward to meeting Peter Obi in the fields. If Obi is sure of his popularity, why is he disturbing the president for a political appointment? Why can he pick a form from his newfound political party and vie for elective position? The truth is that Peter Obi is a political liability, and like tar, he will mar the political success of anybody he associates with.

National Coordinator, APGA SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT.
