The
attention of Media Ethics & Rights Initiative has been drawn to a
fabricated story from a faceless mischief maker on Facebook who hides under the
title of Fact Finders to spew poisonous gossips aimed at creating disaffection
between prominent people in Anambra State. The latest story in the devilish
scheme of this paid rumour merchant is a post titled: “PDP is full of Mad
People like Arthur Eze and Chris Uba - Obiano,” which made a failed attempt to
pitch His Excellency Governor Willie Obiano against some illustrious sons of
Anambra State.
This tall
tale from an itinerant reporter who could not pin down his last appointment
with The Nation Newspaper and has resorted to fronting for some fallen gods in
the state should be ignored as it is an expired emission from a deluded mind.
If the author of this Satanic Verse were not a coward, we dare him to cast
aside his fake name and show his true identity on social media. We have
followed his infantile gossips on his discredited blog which he routinely uses
to mow down innocent people and we wish to remind him of the Chinese proverb
which said that the ways of a liar is short.
It is
common knowledge that Governor Willie Obiano enjoys the support of a broad
spectrum of the illustrious sons and daughters of Anambra State prominent among
whom are Prince Engr. Arthur Eze and Chief Chris Ubah.
Media
Ethics and Rights Initiative recalls that not too long ago, Governor Obiano’s
Security Fundraising attracted a huge donation of $1million from the
philanthropist per excellence, Prince Engr. Arthur Eze. We are also aware that
Ozoigbondu has made out time in the midst his usually tight schedule to
identify with Governor Obiano’s recent effort to confer dignity on Igbos who
lost their lives to the Civil War and other violent conflicts in the country in
a celebration called Ozoemezina. At the occasion, Prince Engr. Eze sat inside
the reserved area for Ndi Ife Melu with Governor Obiano, former Vice President,
Chief Alex Ekwueme, and Chukwuemeka Ojukwu Jnr to accept condolence messages
from mourners across Igboland. It is therefore extremely ludicrous for anyone
to allege that Governor Obiano had suddenly turned against Prince Engr. Eze to
heap insults on him.
Similarly,
Chief Chris Uba, was recently joined Governor Willie Obiano to play host at the
Governor’s Lodge during a Dinner held in honour of the delegation of Thai
Businessmen and women to Anambra State; a landmark event that was aimed at
expanding the state’s investment frontiers.
In all, it
is a well-known fact that governor Obiano runs an all-inclusive administration
which recognizes that the building of a great state requires the pooling
together of a multiplicity of talents and resources from everyone irrespective
of political or religious affiliations. This is why he set out to break past old
anachronistic barriers which fueled the exclusion of some prominent sons and
daughters of the state from making contributions to the development of Anambra
State.
Beginning
with the Anambra Stakeholders Forum, Town Hall Meetings, Local Government Tours
and numerous other private calls and consultations, Governor Obiano has built
bridges of friendship amongst the high and mighty and the state is better for
it.
At Media
Ethics and Rights Initiative, we are aware that by virtue of his position as
the BoT chairman and leader of APGA, Governor Obiano and his wife Ebelechukwu
are in the vanguard of the supporters of the PDP Presidential candidate, Dr.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who is also the adopted candidate of APGA. To that
extent, there is a synergy between APGA and PDP for the Presidential elections.
The only point of departure, which is known to all, is the Governor’s
commitment to APGA and its candidates in other elections.
In
conclusion, we wish to warn all faceless agents of reactionary forces that have
held Anambra State down through the years to desist from any act that is
capable of creating disaffection among our great sons and daughter. Anambra has
had an unfair share of bitter feuds and rancorous personality clashes that have
almost cut short our collective growth as a people.
Media
Ethics and Rights Initiative will continue to denounce any individual or group
whose sole aim is to truncate the great promise that the administration of
Chief Willie Obiano holds to Anambra State.
